Description
We explore the ruins of Tihuanaco which was the biggest force before the Incan Empire emerged. We visit the main ceremonial center, the impressive carvings, stone monoliths including the Sun Gate which is carved in a massif stone block, the visualization of a calendar and a deity that hasn’t been deciphered yet, a pyramid used for ritual sacrifices and the museum with all the pieces that have been found.
Itinerary
Day 1: Puno – Tiahunaco
We pick you up at 6:30 a.m. on this tour from Puno to Tiahuanaco, during the journey we get to know different places like the Inca Uyo and the mystical gate of Aramu Muru and we make a small stop in Pomata to observe the beauty of the Titicaca Lake in its entire splendor. When we get to the border we have to present our documents (passport); once in Bolivia our Bolivian guide will take us to Tiahuanaco where we have lunch and visit the following places: Puma Punku, the sun gate, the Akapana pyramid, the stone museum, the Beneth monolith and others. After our visit we return to Puno, arriving around 6.30 p.m.
