Andean Marriage in Cusco

Description

This Andean ceremony is much more important than a common conjugal union between two people, so it is a sacred ritual performed by an Andean Priest, along with all the energies of nature. For also, in this act, there are all the Sacred Deities considered in the Andean religion. Here, we can mention the main ones that constitute the Andean duality that is composed of the Apus (Mountain Spirits), which represent the male side and the Pacha mama (Mother Earth) that represents the woman and in addition to these two Main Deities , Water is considered as an element that represents Purity and Fire that symbolizes the path or force. For many years, the Andean people, continuing with the traditions of our grandparents, the Incas, maintained the practice of these ceremonies, since they consider as sacred the perfect link between man and woman, so that they prosper and can have happiness complete in the hands of the Pacha mama who will give them all the products they may have in their environment and the protection of the Apus who will be guardians against any enemy who wants evil for the couple.

Itinerary

Day 1: ceremony

The ceremony will be held outside the city of Cusco, so as not to have contact with the Catholic religion, since it is a mystical and non-Catholic ceremony.

Generally, the Andean marriage ceremonies begin in the morning, moving to Quillarumiyoc, to perform the ceremony only during the morning. Then, if the couple wishes, they can fulfill the Catholic and civil ceremony, according to their program.

Normally, we perform the ceremony at the archaeological center of Quillarumiyoc; a place of great power and energy, where the vital liquid that is favorable for the ceremony is also present. On the other hand, it is a magnetic religious center, because it is said that the place was a temple to perform ceremonies to Mama Keel (Mother Moon) and for all those reasons, it is considered by us as a place with many positive qualities for our ceremonies . But, the possibility that interested parties choose a place that they see fit to perform ceremonies is not ruled out.

The ceremony begins in Quillarumiyoc, at 9:30 in the morning and will last about three and a half hours, being carried out with the Purification and Flowering Ceremony, followed by the Ceremony of the four elements: water, fire, air and earth. Also, in the act of the ceremony, the ceremony of the office or Offering to the Pacha mama will be carried out, which consists in giving a marriage offering, so that the Pacha mama protects the Sacred Union that is being carried out. The ceremony is complemented by a series of activities to confirm the union in the eyes of our Andean Gods, which can be:

CHURACUY RING (Putting Rings): The rings must be silver or gold, no matter if it is only bathed, so each of these metals has its meaning that will be revealed in the agency.

SUCHI TIYRAY (Gift Exchange): In this case, there are a series of exchanges of garments (present) that are made mutually by men and women. The type of product to be exchanged will be explained in the agency, since each product will have a special meaning that only you will know at the time of the ceremony.

T´INKAY (Toast of Honor): This ceremony is performed with a toast of Andean drinks that will serve to fortify the marital union since then.

MERIENDA (buffet): This is the act of feeding that is offered to thank the guests and is composed of Andean snacks and even a main course. (This part of the ceremony is optional.
