The painted hills of the Rainbow Mountain are situated in a remote place in the Andes. This is the perfect tour for a day outside of the city where you can enjoy nature and the beauty of the Andean villages of Peru where the inhabitants still speaks the native Incan language Quechua.
Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Pitumarca
We pick you up at 4:00 a.m. to begin the 3 hour long drive to the community of Quesiuno while passing though beautiful landscapes, traditional mud houses and hoards of llamas and alpacas who enjoy the impressive landscapes around the Ausangate Mountain (6398m/20991ft) which is the highest mountain in Cusco.
The Rainbow Mountain (or Vinicunca) is situated in the Vilcanota mountain range in the southern region of Cusco. It’s a fulfilling trek even for the most demanding travelers and trekkers who will leave you with unforgettable memories, magnificent panoramas, wonderful glaciers, crystal clear rivers and calm lakes. This new route is really unique and a real adventure through natural wild terrain. Once we get to the top of the mountain we will get rewarded with incredible views of the area while we enjoy the majestic red mountains and the Ausangate Glacier Peak. You will have sufficient time to explore the area and take photos before we begin our descent to the place where we will have lunch before returning to Cusco.
